Taproom Server

full-time + Part-time POSITIONS

 

Expectations

Full- and Part-time Tasting Room Servers work closely with existing tasting room staff, and will be required to be customer-facing, friendly and responsive to customer and taproom needs. Individuals must be self-driven, enthusiastic, responsible and trustworthy, strive to match our passion for beer and commitment to excellent service, and who can exercise judgment and work independently. You will report directly to the Taproom Manager.

Individual must be a highly-motivated, hard-working, with an unwavering commitment to quality, cleanliness, and continuous improvement. Individual is expected to learn quickly and take initiative within this role. Long Live Beerworks encourages it’s team to pursue ongoing knowledge of industry standards and trends.

This position requires reasonable flexibility to assist where needed, with the opportunity for growth in responsibility. Positive attitude, high level of cleanliness, safety, and attention to detail are mandatory for the position.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsibly serving beer to customers

  • Keeping a working knowledge of the beer we serve, tasting notes, brand history, and overall activity, that may be shared with customers who inquire more information during their visit

  • Casual verbal tours for visiting groups (e.g. RI Brew Bus)

  • Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of all areas you work in

  • Must prioritize safety of yourself and other team members at all times and strive to constantly improve the safety of your work environment

  • Participate in regular deep cleaning efforts around the brewery

  • Occasional participation in packaging responsibilities (cans, bottles, kegs) // when schedule allows

  • Timeliness to shift, with ongoing communication with manager to ensure efficiency and accuracy of daily commitments 

  • Self-driven, time management and completion of daily tasks assigned 


    * This is not an exhaustive list and applicants should be ready and willing to lend a hand where necessary to ensure our growing production operates as accurately and smoothly as possible. We ask that all of our employees operate with an openness and willingness to learn from each other and lend support when needed.

    ** Schedule will require shifts on weekends and late nights, and an occasional holiday. We will do the best to keep a reasonable work/life balance, but applicants should be willing and able to accommodate schedule needs that come up.


Requirements

  • An active TIPs Certification

  • Ability to count money accurately, and handle it safely

  • Availability for weekdays + weekends shift (a minimum commitment to 2 shifts/week. More is encouraged)

  • Ability to think critically and multitask

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, and to be proactive during quieter moments

  • Strong time-management skills

  • The ability to monitor taproom activity to ensure safety of team + visitors

  • Ability to lift 55+ lbs regularly, and move 86+ lbs

  • Ability to crouch, sit, stand, pull, push, bend, and/or twist while working in confined, wet, hot, and/or cold environments, and stand an entire shift

  • Ability to climb up and down a ladder

  • Proficiency in Square (our register software)

  • Active us of Slack (team communication), Homebase (shift management) tools

  • A valid drivers license and reliable transportation

  • A love for beer + working closely with colleagues
