The cello (Olivia Katz) and saxophone (Steph Tamas) duo make up Moon Unit: a genre-bending and boundary pushing ensemble that specializes in free improvisation and contemporary classical music. Moon Unit’s beliefs are based upon questioning the unspoken expectations of modern art and music by expanding and challenging the sonic possibilities and repertoire within the genres of contemporary classical music and jazz.
